Thankfully, Dress It Up offers the Make-A-Button product, which conveniently allows you to turn any flat-backed item into a shanked item.

 Embellishment with Make-A-Button shank
Make-A-Button includes 25 pieces in each pack. These are ideal for flat backed buttons or embellishments that you would like to sew through, or to which you would otherwise like to attach a shank. Make-A-Button easily attaches to the back of the embellishment with glue or any other adhesive.

Each shank will add 1/4 inch of depth to your flat-backed embellishment.
The circular base is 3/8 inch in diameter.
