Color Fashion Report Fall 2008
|
Fall fashion usually brings us quiet and subdued colors. 2008 is very different.
This year , we will see deep earth tones and
rich autumn hues. The "cool" hues are bright and have exciting undertones that make the colors unique.
You will see purple
undertones in the blue iris (which pantone has named color of the year).
In the royal lilac, the purple is more prominent and
comes to the forefront. The withered rose mixes pink with a brown undertone.
Secondary colors, such as chocolate, steel grey, olive
and shitake match, and can be used with, every color on the pantone top ten list.
Pendants will be popular this fall - the bigger,
the better - with loads of sparkle, crystal, precious and semi-precious gemstones.
The pendants will be collected and worn
like handbags and shoes. They will be statement pieces which are big and bold.
They will be playful, adaptable, interchangeable and reasonably priced.
They will go along with popular "separates" fashion, giving designers more choices and means
of expression.
Also, look for layering with necklaces and bracelets, as well as the combining
of different textures, colors and materials.
